Films: The 13th Child (2002)
Location: Forest/Haunted home/Civilized Area
Height/Weight: That of an average human.
Summary: One of the most feared of all US cryptids is the cursed child of Mother Leeds. A demonic abomination cursed to wander the place killing everything in a perpetual rage. We are of course talking about the Jersey Devil, though this version is certainly...different.
History: Wandering the countryside of New Jersey is the mysterious Mr. Shroud. This man, a misanthropic nutcase, carries with him a sophistication concealing a dark secret. For he is the immortal master of Bruno, a shapeshifting demon who is in fact the Jersey Devil itself. Under Shroud's employ, Bruno goes around killing anyone in his path. Few are on the case, but those who are had better be prepared.
Notable Kills: Nothing special.
Final Fate: After Shroud is shot, the Jersey Devil carries him away before he can kill any more people. However, the detective now thrown in the asylum is soon visited by Bruno, who kills him while Mr. Shroud walks away unharmed.
Powers/Abilities: Bruno can shapeshift to help it get around. Its favorite form is a tarantula. It is also indestructible.
Weakness: Only by killing Mr. Shroud can the Jersey Devil be vanquished. Just make sure you do it before the beast has a chance to heal his master.
Scariness Factor: 3.5-We rarely get to Bruno in full, but especially near the end, we see this thing in all of its long-toothed, minotaur-esque, blood-soaked glory. If Mr. Shroud wanted a really good murdering asset, then he found one.
Trivia: -In most interpretations of the Jersey Devil, it is described with the characteristics of a demonic horse.
-It seems like this was meant to be the first film in a series, "Legend of the New Jersey Devil", but it's been years since we last saw ANYTHING related to that.
