“Witches in Bollywood”

Films: Kaalo (2010)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Civilized Area/Desert

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: Hindu productions are a special case indeed. Where they go, so too does inexplicable dance party endings and rather kinetic editing that would make Paul W.S. Anderson pack it in. It's part of their charm, and it even applies to their horror films to some degree.

History: A vile witch from the lost village of Kuldhara, India, Kaalo sought to kill little girls in order to prolong her own life. For these acts, she was executed and buried in the ground, but her restless spirit let her come back more dangerous than ever. Soon, the whole village was evacuated, and everyone was warned to never come back. Then a tour bus with one little girl came by the place. Kaalo is back for her favorite snack...

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: After a brutal final confrontation, a man protecting the girl impales Kaalo's eyes with a special talisman, stabs her in the gut with a bigger dagger, and ignites a gunpowder bomb to blow her up and send her back to Hell. It works beautifully.

Powers/Abilities: By eating little girls, Kaalo remains immortal. She is also insanely resilient, capable of taking whole explosions. She also prefers to wield a halberd-like bladed spear made of metal.

Weakness: She will hesitate in the face of specific symbols, and can be destroyed with just enough different methods at once.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-Kaato does kind of look like a cheaper Creeper, but that doesn't take away from how much of a horrible hag she is. Her face is ugly as sin, she's deceptively powerful, and she will not hesitate to break your spirit before breaking your everything.

Trivia: -This was the first Indian horror film to take place primarily in the daylight.

-Kuldhara is a particularly infamous abandoned Indian village. To this day, no one's sure why everyone left it to become ruins, though theories include severe droughts, earthquakes, and outright persecution from neighboring parts of the country.

250 years is enough to make anybody cranky.

She's escaping the lawsuit the Creeper intended for her.

There's a head that hasn't been stabbed yet. Hence why she's mad.
We warn you. It's a trippy ride.

It's worth the risk, if you don't mind getting thirsty.
