"The Planet of Total Clowns"

Film: Prince of Space (1959)

Alias: Phantom, Phantom's Giant

Type: Alien

Location: Civilized area/Haunted Home

Height/Weight: Phantom is the size of an average human, his giant is that of a skyscraper.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: Most of the time, a story is only as good as its villain. And if we were to judge this movie by looking at ol' Phantom of Krankor, we'd say it's a beautiful mess. Indeed, when all else fails, just throw in a goofy-looking beak-nose and his forces, and it's all good.

History: Krankor is the planet, not the ruler. The ruler in question is known as Phantom, and he's been wanting to take over the universe for some time now. To do this, he needs a special rocket fuel formula...even though he's been observing Earth inside and out...and he can already travel through space. Yeah, we never said Krankor had any intelligent life on it. Still, Phantom did manage to create a monstrous giant guard, so that counts for something. Alas, the only one who would stand in his way was the heroic Prince of Space. Compared to this stud, Phantom was a little outclassed.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: After the giant is blasted to death by the Prince's ship, Phantom ends up crushed by rubble after the hero blows up the evil lair they are in on Krankor.

Powers/Abilities: Phantom is actually quite nimble for a man of his stature, being able to jump a considerable distance in the air to keep up with the Prince. The giant can spout smoke and fire.

Weakness: Anything conventional, like common sense in Phantom's case.

Scariness Factor: 1-Krankor might be the silliest alleged "super-villain" ever put to film. His face looks like something out of a cartoon, his methods are nonsensical and self-defeating, and he can't EVER understand that his weapons just don't work against the Prince no matter how many times he's reminded. At least he has the right charisma to be enjoyable. The giant is hardly any better, looking like a dumpy, baby-faced goblin.

Trivia: -This film, and by extent the series it's tied to (known as "Planet Prince"), was made to cash in on the success of the "Super Giant" series.

-Oh, and "Planet Prince" only lasted barely a year. Bummer.

This looks...suggestive.
Note: Not as mighty as he seems.

Krankor's giant in all his ridiculous glory.

Seriously. THAT NOSE.

"Drop the act, Krankor. Your mom was being nice to you when she said we looked great."
