"The Switching Hour"

Films: The She-Beast (1966)

Alias: Veronica

Type: Mystical

Location: Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: Horror sweetheart and frequent witch portrayer Barbara Steele is back, and she’s doing it again...sort of. She's not a witch, but a woman POSSESSED by a witch.

History: A foul and wicked witch, Vardella was condemned to execution via stabbing and drowning. Yet despite warnings to do so, they couldn't be bothered to exorcise her beforehand, so she put a curse on the place so that she would possess any unfortunate soul who wandered near her tomb. Centuries later, some newlyweds crash their car into her lake, and she seizes the opportunity to possess the wife.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: Eventually, Vardella's soul host is captured and subjected to a non-fatal variation of the execution she experienced long ago. The no longer possessed woman comes out unscathed, though there are a couple signs that Vardella isn't quite gone yet...

Powers/Abilities: So long as someone visits her resting area, she can possess their bodies.

Weakness: Perform the execution that killed her in the first place on her.

Scariness Factor: 3-If you're a woman, beware the spirit of Vardella. For she can make you do the most unspeakable of acts. Her true form is also ugly as sin, so that counts for something.

Trivia: -Barbara Steele was reportedly given one thousand dollars for just one work day. But alas, she was holding the monkey's paw at that moment, as she was forced to work for 18 hours that day.

-This film was shot in 21 days.

HERESY!

"Let's see how YOU like being drowned!"

"Do you mind? This is my beauty sleep."
Rather, it seeks better bodies.

Barbara Steele. Perfect pick.
