"Hawa-eeep!"

Films: Demon of Paradise (1987)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Ocean/Cave/Jungle

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: Those pesky civilized folk. They just never learn when the people tell them not to break open hallowed ground. Because once that happens, the blood flows like water.

History: In Hawaii, there are nice little fire-dances going on. But not for any celebration. It is to appease an ancient demonic beast known as Akua. One day, this monster was unleashed by careless dynamite fishing, and everyone risked falling prey to its endless hunger.

Notable Kills: Launches out of the water to grab a helicopter down.

Final Fate: Pretty soon, the army shows up to attack Akua. They win by a landslide, blowing the monster up.

Powers/Abilities: None

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-Admittingly, an ancient reptilian monster capable of bringing down small aircraft is a sight indeed. It's just a shame that when mankind gets out the big guns, he goes out like a chump.

Trivia: -Akua's name is mostly likely derived from the Japanese phrase for evil, "Aku".

-This film is often considered to be a remake of 1957's "Naked Paradise".
