"Real Night Fright"

Films: Nightbeast (1982)

Alias: None

Type: Alien

Location: Eldritch civilization/Civilized area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: If you end up marooned on a distant planet, is your first initiative really to kill everything? It doesn't exactly make anyone eager to help you get back in space, you know. Well, the Nightbeast didn't know, apparently.

History: The Nightbeast was an alien traveler whose ship got struck by an asteroid while he was going over Earth. Crashing into Maryland, the alien wasted no time disemboweling and shooting at everyone in the vicinity.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: The evil alien is eventually led into an electric trap. Although it doesn't exactly go according to plan, the trap does end up electrocuting the Nightbeast to death.

Powers/Abilities: Comes with a disintegrating ray gun, and is impervious to bullets.

Weakness: Heavy artillery, like electricity.

Scariness Factor: 4-A nigh-unkillable savage beast, this alien looks like a hairless gorilla-man with too many fangs and too many behavioral issues. Better hope you run into a more honorable hunter next time.

Trivia: -This film was scored by a teenage J.J. Abrams. Again, everyone starts somewhere.

-The Nightbeast was crafted by John Dods, a make-up artist whose work will pop up much more in upcoming films.
