"Rooted to your seat"

Films: The Crawlers (1993)

Alias: None

Type: Mutant

Location: Forest/Haunted home

Height/Weight: Can be that of tall trees.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: Sometimes, it's not the animals that'll get to you in the woods. The very environment could turn against you! And it wouldn't even be nature's fault!

History: Because of excessive nuclear waste dumping in the countryside, lots of loose tree roots have become inexplicably sentient, and have also developed an insane bloodlust. Soon, people are dying left and right, and the EPA is called in to investigate.

Notable Kills: A couple manage to drag a helicopter down to an explosive end.

Final Fate: Eventually, the breeding grounds of the crawlers are bulldozed over, killing all of the roots. However, if a household Christmas tree is anything to go by here, the crawlers aren't done yet...

Powers/Abilities: Self-fertilization, apparently.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 2.5-It is true that these things kill in mostly unpleasant ways. But then there are those times where they're just flailing about and almost desperately trying to hit anything, exposing them for the cheap plastic roots that they are.

Trivia: -This was one to two films to be inexplicably called "Troll 3". The other was "Quest for the Mighty Sword", and at least that one featured a goblin from the second film.

-The creepers bear an uncanny resemblance to the similarly named Creeper Vine, which is known for parasitically latching on to bigger plants and feeding off their nutrients.

Based on this...do they mate?
They've come to take back their wooden brethren.
Pray their aim is off next time.
