Summary: Fairy tales are fairly simple stories to shift in your favor. Just about everyone has their very own interpretation of them. But most of the time, darker and scarier versions of these stories are valued by Hollywood. Case in point, Rumpelstiltskin.

History: Ol' Rumpel here was a monstrous goblin-like being who liked to make deals with women so that he could take their infant children and rob them of their souls. He was stopped many centuries ago when a witch rightfully guessed his name, sealing him in a small jade idol. Now in the modern day, a recently widowed woman wishes for her husband back...while in possession of the idol. Rumpel's back, and he's got a new baby to pursue.

Notable Kills: Rips out a guy's still moving eye before finishing the job.

Final Fate: After being burned a whole lot, Rumpelstiltskin is defeated when the woman gets his name right, sealing him in the idol once more.

Powers/Abilities: Rumpel has access to a lot of magic spells, such as necromancy. Also, if he ever gets the soul of another child, he will be immortal. Though as of now, he's capable of taking lethal wounds and still be able to go around like nothing happened.

Weakness: Fire and straw put together hurt him a lot, though only by stating his name in front of him will he be banished.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-Perhaps there's good reason to remember that funny name from that story. This interpretation has sharp teeth, moves like a hunched creep, and has a really bad sense of humor as he tries to kill babies. It is amusing to see how quickly he adapted to modern conveniences, though.

Trivia: -In the original story, it isn't always clear as to why Rumpelstiltskin wanted that baby. Most interpret is as evil, though other wonder if he just wanted a child of his own.
