"Fear the Reapers"

Films: Soultaker (1990)

Alias: The Man and the Angel of Death, Brad Deville

Type: Mystical

Location: Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of average humans.

Affiliation: Good (Brad), Evil (the rest)

Summary: It isn't easy being dead. But if you happened to play any part in that person's death, you can look forward to surrounding yourself with all kinds of death. Yup, you'll be a Soultaker.

History: Those who find themselves responsible for murder, accident or not, are doomed to become Soultakers, or people who take wayward souls to the Afterlife. This Soultaker killed his lover in life, and is now under the thumb of the Angel of Death. While tasked to kill five people, he finds that one of them resembles his lost love. Now, he offers her immortality while pursuing her friends.

Notable Kills: Nothing special

Final Fate: With a little help from a new Soultaker, the girl's boyfriend is able to stave off the Man before he can complete his mission by midnight. The Angel of Death punishes him by sealing him away in his soul ring.

Powers/Abilities: Immortality

Weakness: Divine action

Scariness Factor: 3-Really, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with having someone take you to the next life. We're honestly not sure why these guys resisted. Then again, maybe it was because the Soultaker intentionally took their lives in the first place. That's...a little concerning.

Trivia: -The Man was played by Joe Estavez, the uncle of Charlie Sheen.

-The writer and lead actress of the film, Vivian Schilling, based this around a car accident that she and a friend got into. Fittingly, a car accident is the catalyst for the plot.

The guys behind Jojo would disagree.
Kind of hard to make an offer when you're hurting her friend. Just saying.
Fear the terror of cheesy ring-props!
