"Merry Hell-mas"

Film: Santa Claus (1959)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Eldritch Area/Civilized area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: Over the years, stories about jolly Saint Nick have taken many forms and twists. Sometimes he's not there for X-Mas, one of his subordinates gets the spotlight, etc. But nothing will top his exploits in 1959, when he went up against the forces of Hell itself! Oh yes, that very much happened.

History: Pitch was at the top of the demon pecking order in the realm of Hades, but each year, his forces would be thwarted by the goodness of that pesky Santa Claus. His master, Lucifer, promised him that if he failed this year, he would be...force fed ice cream. Okay. Anyhow, Pitch immediately set out to infect the minds of the children with evil thoughts, hoping to then get ahold of Santa's mechanizations and rule the world (and considering what Santa uses to do his job, it's easy to see why).

Notable Kills: None.

Final Fate: After many failed attempts, Pitch decides to expose Santa to the masses, but makes a mistake calling the fire department, as they notice Pitch's smoking invisible form, and spray him with water, scaring him off.

Powers/Abilities: Pitch can set things on fire with his mind, teleport, and infect the minds of the weak-willed with evil and violent thoughts.

Weakness: Apparently, Pitch has digestion issues when it comes to ice cream, especially chocolate. Either he's lactose-intolerant or he just can't stand cold things. The latter would justify his hatred of getting sprayed with cold water.

Scariness Factor: 2-Despite being a denizen of Hell, Pitch is rather pitiful. His schemes and mannerisms make him come off as a Saturday-morning cartoon villain rather than a legitimate threat. Sure, he's a big jerk, but in terms of scariness, almost everything else in this movie counts. Especially those reindeer. That laugh...

Trivia: -This film was made in Mexico, and didn't get an official American release until 1960.

-In Mexico, Christmas is celebrated not on December 25th, but from the twelfth to January 6th.
