“Black hearts, black souls”

Films: The Shadow Men (1997)

Alias: None

Type: Alien

Location: Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: We already discussed a benevolent iteration of the Men in Black. But what about when the fears are justified? The difference is that these guys aren't out and about keeping aliens a secret from us. Rather, they ARE the aliens..

History: A local family has recently been starting to get heckled by a group of mysterious men in sharp suits and dark glasses. As it turns out, these are the MIB, having come to investigate the family after an alien abduction. But wait! They’re aliens too! And they'll do anything to get their hands on these people, even murder.

Notable Kills: Nothing special

Final Fate: Most of the Shadow Men attacking the family are blown up and/or killed in other ways. But one still remains, and the battle between man and the aliens within is far from over…

Powers/Abilities: Can mimic human forms perfectly (minus the eyes).

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-It's already a harrowing experience to be assaulted by near-emotionless men in suits, especially if they seem to be working for a greater agenda. But it's just as bad when those guys turn out to be crazy aliens with weird beady eyes behind those intimidating glasses.

Trivia: -This film was originally going to be directed by Luca Bercovici.

-The urban legend of the Men in Black mainly began in the 50s and 60s, when up and coming "Ufologists" began to fear that their pursuit of proving the existence of alien life would be silenced by agents of the government. One of the earliest cases, however, was in 1947, when Harold Dahl, firsthand witness of the first ever UFO sighting, was threatened into keeping it all a secret by a person in a black suit. Many similar accounts followed from that point forward.
